Describe the bug

Hello GitHub Support Team,

I’d like to report an issue I’m experiencing with the GitHub Copilot CLI.

  1. The /copy command is not functioning as expected. I am unable to copy the last reply provided by Copilot using this command.
  2. When Copilot generates a long response that exceeds the terminal height, I’m unable to view the full message. Standard navigation shortcuts like CTRL+O and CTRL+E do not allow me to scroll or view the remaining content.
  3. As a result, long outputs become partially inaccessible and cannot be reviewed or copied.
These limitations make it difficult to work efficiently with the Copilot CLI. Please look into this behavior and let me know if there are any current workarounds or upcoming fixes.

Thank you for your support

Affected version

v1.0.15

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Ask Copilot CLI a question that results in a long or extended reply.
  2. Attempt to view the full response using the provided navigation shortcuts (CTRL+O and CTRL+E).
  3. Try scrolling through the response using the terminal’s scroll up/down functionality; the content does not scroll.
  4. Attempt to copy the last Copilot response using the /copy command; it does not copy anything.

Expected behavior

• The full Copilot CLI response should be scrollable and viewable with standard navigation keys.
• The /copy command should reliably copy the most recent Copilot reply.
• Users should be able to access long responses using scroll, CTRL+O/CTRL+E, or other navigation methods.
